Kevin Shand is the founder and owner of Pedras Productions, LLC.
He has recently co-produced two feature films (Infrared Dreams in association with GritHouse Films of Denver, Colorado, and Katakata in association with Newton Barbara Studios of Enugu, Nigeria.
Before starting Pedras Productions Kevin spend 10 years working with Main Man Films LLC where he collaborated on several projects including developing projects to be filmed in Belize, Nigeria, South Africa, and the United States.
Kevin also spent over eight years at the helm of the Colorado Film Commission, serving as its Executive Director, until the non-profit film commission was merged into the Colorado State Office of Economic Development and International Trade where the Film Commission was reformed as the Colorado Office of Film, Television, and Media where he served as the first Director. During his time with the Colorado Film Commission, he led the effort to create and expand film incentives in the state while working with a variety of productions including studio productions, independent features, television shows, commercial productions, and still photo shoots.
Kevin is one of the first six film commissioners globally to earn the designation of “Certified Film Commissioner” from the Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI). He was elected to serve as a member of the AFIC Board of Directors by his peers globally.
Kevin started his career in the film industry serving as the Film Commissioner for Stanislaus County in central California where he was elected to the board of directors of the Film Liaisons in California Statewide (FLICS).
